8 months old

Cooper is 8 months old today. He weighs 23 lb 7 oz and is 28.5" long
He can clap and wave. He can do baby sign language for "more" and "all done".
He says Dada, Mama, Ada, and Yes (according to Daddy and Ms. Kayla).
Cooper is supposed to have surgery for ear tubes on Tuesday, Dec 23. Please keep him in your prayers. We are praying that it will be quick and painless and that he will be his happy self soon after surgery.

Caden had his Christmas program at school this week. He sang every word of every song. It was adorable. Can you find him in this picture?

We are waiting (somewhat) patiently for Christmas here. Caden is so excited for Santa to come. We've been to see 3 Santas. Caden was concerned that all three of them might come to his house. Cooper wasn't too fond of the 2 Santas that he met this year. We had Caden and Cooper's picture made with Santa at Phipps and with Santa and Mrs. Claus at our Clubhouse this year and we rode the Pink Pig.

We hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

7 months old and 53 months old

Cooper was 7 months old yesterday.

We didn't take a picture or post yesterday because, big surprise, we were at the doctor with a double ear infection. So here is a picture of Cooper at 7 months and 1 day old.
He is MUCH better today. He had a shot of rocephin and we are going to see an ENT on Friday.
At 7 months old, Cooper likes to eat everything especially "Saturday morning pancakes". He babbles all the time and can say "Ada" now. We think that means "Caden" because he says it when Caden is around or when he's trying to get Caden's attention. He can sit up by himself and he can roll over both ways. We think he is going to skip crawling and go straight to walking any day now. He is getting his first tooth as well.

Caden was 53 months old on the 17th. When Caden realized it was Cooper's birthday this week he asked how many "months old" he was. We told him 53 months so he wanted his 53 month birthday posted on the blog too. Thank God he isn't an only child anymore...

At 53 months old, Caden doesn't EVER stop talking, loves to play baseball, soccer, football and tennis and likes to watch ESPN with Daddy. He loves his 4 year preschool class, where a friend has introduced him to the concept of "guns". We here at home are extremely thrilled that he knows about guns now - ugh!

We are so blessed to have such a happy baby (even when he's been sick for the last 6 weeks) and an outgoing, gun-loving 4 year old.

Cooper the Crouper and Halloween

Caden was a fireman and Cooper was a dalmatian for Halloween. We had a Halloween party at our house and then Caden went trick or treating with Claire, Caroline, Grace, Kathryn and Audrey. We have GOT to find some boys to hang out with... Cooper made it in the wagon for 10 minutes before he fell asleep, so he and Daddy stayed at home while Mommy and Caden went to every single house in the entire subdivision.

In other news:
Cooper has Croup and RSV. We are so thankful that we finally have a diagnosis. A big shout out to the nurses and doctors at CHOA. Please keep praying that Cooper will get rid of this horrible virus and start to feel better soon.

"Pickin' Pumpkins in the Pumpkin Patch"

(That's Caden's favorite song from one of his John Deere movies. If Danny would ever teach me how to truly "blog" I could have it playing for everyone to hear...)

Cooper and Caden went to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. Caden got some pumpkins for his Halloween party and Cooper coughed the whole time we were there.

Cooper is STILL sick. We ended up at the ER on Saturday at 3:00am because he had a fever. The doctors can't find any sort of infection. He just has a bad cough and runny nose and he is still taking breathing treatments. The doctors think his fever is because he is teething on top of everything else. Poor little guy. Please keep him in your prayers. We ALL need some rest.

Caden went to a birthday party on Saturday for a friend in his class. It was a Star Wars themed party. So now, Daddy is Darth Vader and Cooper is Yoda. Caden wants them to change their names - really.

20 lbs and more

Cooper weighs 20 lbs 1.5 oz and is 28" long.
For those of you comparing the two, Caden weighed 17 lbs 13 oz and was 26 3/4" long at his 6 month check up.
Cooper is going to be GIGANTIC!

Birthdays and Mountain Trips

Cooper is 6 months old!
He is eating solid foods and sleeping through the night - FINALLY!!!
He can say Mama and Dada and he LOVES watching Caden dance and sing. He can roll over but his enormous thighs get in the way most of the time.

He's been sick for a few weeks because Caden brings home every stinking virus from pre-school, but he is feeling a little better now.

He weighs a little over 20 lbs (I know - HUGE!). We will find out his real measurements on Monday at his checkup.
He is such a sweet boy!

Caden is on his "Mountain Trip" with Gigi and Grandy in Tennessee. They are only going for a few days this year because Caden has school pictures on Tuesday and his big "Cooking Party" at school on Thursday. They are going to Pigeon Forge and to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. Mommy and Daddy are enjoying the peace and quiet for a few days...

Cooper is 5 months old!
He likes to jabber, eat, chew on his hands, eat, laugh at his big brother, and eat bananas! Did I mention that he likes to eat?
He weighs almost 19 lbs and is 27 inches long (according to our measurements).
Happy Birthday big guy!

The Skunks

The Mount Bethel Skunks had their T-ball team pictures made today. Caden is on the right hand side sitting on the rock.

Daddy is going to post a video of Caden playing T-ball some day soon... Stay tuned.

Mommy went back to work this week. She decided she liked being a SAHM (that's industry jargon for Stay-at-home-mom).

We have a feeling that the blogging will slow down for a while now that Mommy has a "real job" (to quote Pop-Pop).

Monday is coming soon...

We are all a little sad here. Mommy has to go back to work on Monday.

We are so blessed that Caden and Cooper and Mommy got to spend so much time together while she was off though. It has been a great few months!

Please pray that Monday (and all the days after) go smoothly for all of us (especially Daddy!).

Cooper's Baptism

Cooper was baptized today at Roswell Presbyterian Church. Dr. Lane Alderman baptized him. Lane is the same minister who baptized Caden 4 years ago. It was such a nice service and Cooper was such a good baby.

We had most of our family there today as well as some of our dear friends.

We missed you Jen-Jen, Danny and Jordan! Aunt Denise and Uncle Brown had a wedding in Austin, TX and Uncle Dave had a golf tournament so they couldn't make it either.

Gigi, Grandy, Honey, Papa, Menaw, Grandaddy, Grandma, PopPop, Aunt Jennifer, Nichole, Aunt Cindy, Jenene, Greg and Claire all came to lunch with us afterward at South City Kitchen.

We had a yummy lunch and Cooper got so many nice keepsakes for his baptism. It was a fun-filled day.

Caden's First T-Ball Practice

Caden had his first T-ball practice on Saturday, August 23rd at Mt. Bethel.

He is number 9, their uniforms are black and white and the team voted on their name...
The Mount Bethel Skunks!

He practiced hitting, throwing, catching and running the bases. Hitting was his favorite.

Where have the 4 years gone???

Today we went to Mt. Bethel to meet Caden's new Pre-K teachers, Ms. Rosalyn and Ms. Betty.
Caden got to meet all his new classmates too. He's a little sad because Emma and Charlie aren't in his class, but he's excited because Mya, Hunter and Sydney are in his class.

He will go to Pre-K Mondays-Thursdays from 9:30-12:30 and he will have Discovery Days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30. For Fall's Discovery Days he will get to go to Science, Champion Chefs and Playball.

Great Jacket Encounter Fan Day

Caden and Daddy went to Georgia Tech's Fan Photo Day on Saturday.

Cooper and Mommy stayed at home in the air conditioning.

Caden got autographs from Coach Johnson and a lot of football players.

He was most interested in getting his picture made with the "cute cheerleaders".

One of the Tech linebackers asked Caden if Tech would beat UGA this year.

Caden's response was priceless: "No, Georgia is really good."

Daddy tried to explain that he should say "Yes, we are going to beat Georgia!" Caden looked at Daddy as if he had lost his mind and simply said "Well we aren't. Georgia is really good, Daddy!"
Go Tech!

It's about time...

Today we started our blog for Cooper and Caden.

We will have pictures and any funny stories we think we should share.

We will try and keep this as updated as we can.
